Letter from Indiana Heritage Quilt Show

The 2008 Indiana Heritage Quilt Show is now in the record books and we are pleased that it will go down as record attendance. We had 4500 friends come to our party this year! We appreciate everyone who came to look at the quilts, shop at the vendors, and take classes.

  • If you want to feast your eyes on some spectacular crazy quilting, then head over to Crazy Quilting International. This is a place for the members of the "Crazy Quilting International" Yahoo! group to showcase their work in the round robins, contests and swaps that they participate in. Use the labels to follow the progress of various round robin blocks. #
  • Eleven fiber artworks raised over $8700 in Fiberart For A Cause's fourth annual Invitational Reverse Auction. Fiberart For A Cause has now donated over $150,000 to the American Cancer Society. Donors of artwork included Frances Holliday Alford, Terry Grant, Peg Keeney, Jay Rich, Susan Sorrell, Del Thomas, Larkin Van Horn, Laura Wasilowski, and Leni Wiener. Visit the site to see the artwork. The next Fiberart For A Cause fundraiser will be Collage Mania, May 5-6, 2008. • Is it March already? It certainly blew in like a lion in these parts, with over a foot of snow on the ninth hole of the fairway...but, the robins are back, the snow is melting, and a chipmunk ran across the porch yesterday. So, it must be National Quilt Month, with the actual Quilt Day being the third Saturday in March, or the 22nd. So, be sure to check with your local quilting associations to see what special events they have planned! #
  • Has anyone discovered this Art Quilt Magazine yet? What did you think? I haven't been able to find it on book stands yet...and you all know how crazy I am about art quilts...(follow the link to see the image)>>> #
  • I don't know about you all, but I'm fired up about this year's Fiberart for a Cause Invitational Reverse Auction of Fabulous Fiberart! This year ten fiber artists will participate in the reverse auction that will benefit the American Cancer Society: Frances Holliday Alford, Terry Grant, Peg Keeney, Jay Rich, Susan Sorrell, Del Thomas, Larkin Van Horn, Laura Wasilowski, Leni Wiener, Maggie Winfield. The Invitational Reverse Auction will be held 10-13 March at the Reverse Auction pages at Virginia Spiegel's site. A preview of the artwork is now up along with details of how a reverse auction works. Fiberart For A Cause has donated over $140,000 to the American Cancer Society in the past. More to come! #
