Leukaemia Quilts

Quilts for LuekemiaA Quilt 4 Leukaemia

Oh, wandering through the Web is such a fun thing to do (as long as I have plenty of spyware protection, etc.). It was in this wandering tonight that I ran across the Quilts 4 Leukaemia site that originates out of France.

This is what I know about this site and its owner: A woman named Clare was inspired to create these quilts when her brother-in-law was diagnosed with leukaemia four years ago. He’s fine, but still not out of the clear. There’s a theme going on here - the quilt blocks are done up in red and white to represent red and white blood cells. And, the blocks are so different because many people donate the squares.

What does Clare need?

  • Quilts Blocks: The size should be 8.5 inches unfinished. The colours should be red and white and in any pattern you like.
  • People who would need or want the quilts - in other words, luekaemia victims.
  • People to help sew the blocks together. I don’t think you need to be in France, but perhaps a vacation is in order?

You can email Clare (email at her Web site) to offer your services. I learned about Clare’s site through the Life with Leukaemia site.
